Sabrina Bongiovanni for Elle

Sabrina Bongiovanni was assigned to create images for a beauty shoot in the February issue of Dutch Elle magazine. Her style is clearly visible in the shapes, framing and bright colours and complements the graphical lines in the make-up. The magazine is available in stores now.

Ingmar at Re: Rotterdam

Ingmar Swalue is showing his work at the art fair Re: Rotterdam. The expo he is a part of was organized by creative agency We Know Art.

From the 6th until the 10th of February, you are welcome to visit the exhibition on the 8th floor of the building at Blaak 16. Besides Ingmar, other photographers on display are Csilla Klenyanszki, Remty Elenga, Claire van Lubeek and Manolya Isik.

Playmobil

Volkskrant Magazine asked Krista van der Niet to create an image celebrating 35 years of Playmobil in The Netherlands. Krista made a classic portrait of a very old Playmobil figure, sitting sideways and looking over his shoulder into the camera. Because it has been played with so much, it’s full of scratches and has no more hair. Looking at the portrait, you are looking back in time.

The Studio Garden at DNB

From Thursday November 1, Elspeth Diederix will be showing her explorative work from her studio garden at De Nederlansche Bank (DNB). For a few years, she has been researching the possibilities of using plant material in her work. This will continue for a while, as working with living material is a slow process. A part of this work in progress will be shown at DNB until December 13. Attending the opening on November 1 requires preregistration at the bank. Her research can be viewed on her blog.

Silence

In the Volkskrant today you can find an appendix about silence. For the images accompanying the articles, the editors were looking for photographs representing a feeling of silence. They chose 6 images by Elspeth Diederix to convey the general feeling of the articles.

Things - as they are

September 17th, 2012

Elspeth Diederix will present her new book Things - as they are on Thursday September 20th, 6pm, at Offprint Amsterdam. This takes place as a part of the Unseen Photo Fair in Westerpark. The book contains an overview of work and sketches from the past 10 years, as well as new images. During the fair, Elspeth has a solo exhibition at the Galerie Diana Stigter area.

Audience

Krista van der Niet created this series for Theater aan het Spui in Den Haag. Every year a selected photographer creates images of various actors in their own homes, within a certain theme. Krista was asked to work with the theme ‘audience’. She created an audience out of objects in the actors’ houses and improvised a setting together with the actor. This image of Raymonde de Kuyper is also the cover image of the brochure, click here to see the entire series.

Opening ‘Incognito’

Yvonne Lacet will exhibit her series ‘Incognito’ in Amsterdam. The opening will take place at Galerie Bart, Bloemgracht 2, from 4 pm on September 1. Incognito is also the name of her first book, which will be presented at the opening. “Incognito is about a fictitious city that is a combination of urban non-places.”

The current issue of Elle magazine features a series by Sabrina Bongiovanni. She was asked to photograph a number of purses and shoes and did so in her own style, using bright colors and curious angles. You can see the entire series in her portfolio.

Shoes moving

After Ingmar Swalue’s last assignment for Kinner Italia, he was asked to photograph the new collection as well. Within the concept of ‘fallen angels’ Ingmar created moving as well as still images, surrounding the shoes with smoke, sparks and colored powders. All the GIFs are visible on the Kinner Italia website.
