Lawyer Inez Weski was interviewed for the latest issue of OOG, magazine of the Rijksmuseum, on the subject of beauty and art. Weski is not only well known for her complex and high profile cases, but also for her (dark) appearance. Jaap Scheeren made ultimate use of unconventional lighting to capture this particular atmosphere in the portraits as well as in the still picture of her office.
For this week’s cover of the VPRO magazine Krista van der Niet was asked to illustrate the main feature on communicating with animals. The story is about a course people can take to get to know their pets through telepathy in order to solve behavioral problems. Obviously, the subject was right up Krista’s street and resulted in this witty image.

Commissioned by Karin An Rijlaarsdam (Cloud 9 interior design), Ingmar Swalue photographed Happy VIP, the VIP Lounge of the Dutch Pavilion Happy Street at World Expo Shanghai 2010.
The festive and outgoing character of Happy Street and the shape of the VIP building itself, resembling a huge golden crown, inspired Karin to design the interior of the VIP lounge like a ‘happy crown’. She has created an extravagant and joyful environment, nearly evoking an overdose of happiness and glitter. Ingmar managed to capture this atmosphere in his series of pictures accompanying the press release.

Jaap Scheeren photographed Dutch jewellery designer Ted Noten for the ‘homemade’ issue of Wallpaper. Especially for Wallpaper, Noten designed a unique necklace (Golden Girl Fashionista) which features purple shoes and a tiny gun, any of which can be accented in gold.

The last issue of NRC Focus, quarterly magazine on strategy, economics and leadership, has as main theme ‘Merges’. Marnix Goossens photographed a story on Fortis, focusing on the physical dismantling of the company. The pictures reflect the decline of the bank.

RO Theater is one of the three largest Dutch theatre companies with a permanent ensemble and an innovative repertoire for large and medium-sized theatres. The theatre company asked Victor Bergen Henegouwen to make portraits of the actors in the ensemble, keeping in mind they make important contributions to the identity and recognition of the company. And, of course, Victor undertook this assignment with his unparalled style.

If you are visiting Spain this Summer look out for the Vueling billboards. Krista van der Niet photographed this campaign in Holland last April, in cooperation with the Barcelona based agency SCPF. She was also involved in the concept of the images, resulting in this tongue-in-cheek campaign. Solar was responsible for the production, casting and location scouting.

Marnix Goossens photographed a poster for the play ‘De City’ by Martin Crimp. De Veenfabriek was especially invited by Crimp to perform his new play for the first time. Marnix visualized the struggle of the main character, Claire, who is trying to find and define her emotions although she is trapped in her own story. The image was also used for the eflyer and the cover of the text book.
